Following a fantastic 2024 Grand Slam Series, we are thrilled to announce that Rooster is continuing its partnership with the J/70 UK Class into 2025. With a shared passion for competitive racing and a commitment to growing the sport, Rooster remains an ideal partner as the J/70 class continues to thrive at both local and international levels.

It was back to the Solent for this year’s Tideway J/70 National Championship, with Royal Yacht Squadron hosting the regatta. Charles Thompson’s Brutus were clear favourites, despite having had a mixed start to 2024. They went into this regatta as reigning World & National Champions.

With three major J/70 championships in Europe this year and the introduction of two new categories, the 2024 UK J/70 Season will not disappoint.
The Grand Slam Series includes six premier events in the Solent, including Cowes Week Short Series and the J/70 Nationals.

The UK J/70 Class has launched the 2024 Grand Slam Series. The Grand Slam Series consists of 6 premier J/70 events in the Solent. It includes Cowes Week Short Series, the J/70 Nationals and four weekend events across the season from April to October.

The UK J/70 Class is delighted to celebrate an outstanding international success, as Brutus were crowned J/70 World Championship Champions 2023, bringing the world title back to the United Kingdom from St. Petersburg Yacht Club.
Sailed from 31 October to 4 November, the championship featured ten races in spectacular conditions.

Josie Gliddon was one of a number of women racing at the J/70 European Championship, although she really doesn’t like the gender question. “Everyone who knows me knows that I sail as a sailor,” says Gliddon who was steering Brutus II owned by Charlie Thompson.
