The class association was formed by a group of owners, keen to build the class, maintain one design fleets at local and national regattas, and, acting as a Member National Authority ensure we adhere to the J/70 International class rules.

NOTE – As a result of changes to the J/70 International Class Rules (Effective January 1, 2019) all J/70 Helms (either owners or Group 1 sailors) and now additionally all Crew who do not have Group 1 Sailor IDs (i.e. pro/Group 3 or unclassified crew) must have J/70 UKICA membership in order to race.
